FLOODrisk 2012 has ended, looking forward to FLOODrisk 2016

The FLOODrisk 2012 conference, held in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), has come to an end. The event, coordinated by Deltares, HR Wallingford, Samui and FloodControl2015, was a great success by all accounts.

Floodrisk Game AwardIt had over 500 participants, from 37 different countries covering all regions of the world. During three days (20-22 November 2012), all attendees had the opportunity of participating in 34 technical sessions, 13 special sessions and 4 plenary sessions, as well as 3 poster sessions.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit the stands of 20 exhibitors and be informed of some remarkable new developments, new technologies and new research and findings by a number of European projects.

FLOODrisk 2012 conference

Following the successful FLOODrisk 2008 conference held in Oxford (UK), the 2nd European Conference on FLOODrisk Management (FLOODrisk 2012) will be held in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), 20-22 November 2012.

FLOODrisk 2012 will bring together researchers, policy makers and practitioners from across the world to share experience and progress made in flood risk research and policy and management practice.

FLOODrisk 2012 will include contributions from a variety of National, European and International flood related initiatives as well as wider international practice. In particular, the applicability of to flood risk management practice, and the influence of policy on research and practice will be considered.
