Advances on dam risk analysis presented during the 2017 USSD Conference (April 2017)

The 2017 USSD Conference was held in Anaheim (California) from 3 to 7 April 2017.

The theme for this edition of the conference was “It’s a Small World: Managing Our Water Resources“.

On Tuesday April 4, two sessions on Risk were conducted, including presentations on consequence estimation, individual risk evaluation, geotechnical aspects, common cause adjustment and failure mode analysis, uncertainty analysis and risk assessment for levee design.

Ignacio Escuder presented the paper “Epistemic vs Natural Uncertainty in Dam Safety Decision Making: Is it Fair Play?“, as part of this session.
